"Peace Piece"

The December 2009 Etsy Bead Weavers Challenge has such a great theme, I think. The winners of the last challenge, SmadarsTreasure and AngelqueCreations, chose "Peace Piece" - to represent peace and the winter olympics.

I started an entry but unfortunately due to my more work at my office job I wasn't able to finish in time. I did finish it this weekend though, so there shall be some pictures for you later this week - after the giveaway.

"Time Machine" challenge winner

This necklace was made for the request of Team EBW. I just loved the topic at the first sight. My time machine is working very-very easily. You can turn time forwald or backward with the gears and this is the way to travel to future or past. Silver symbolize the future and tufa is past. I set the tufa by tubular RAW.

Etsy Bead Weavers Street Team Monthly Challenge

The 9th of every month, voting is opened for the EBW's montly themed challenge. The only "real" challenge is to challenge yourself, as we don't have a big cash n' prizes pot or anything. Behind the friendly competition is inspiration, and an incentive to keep our hands and minds sharp.

This months theme is "Animal Instinct". I did not have time to do something up for this challenge...with the holidays coming up soon I need to think gifts, both what to make for family/friends, and what people want to buy as gifts.

There is plenty of eye candy, so take a moment please and vote for your favorite!

Part of the charm of these challenges is seeing the different ways each artist interprets the theme. Luckily I was able to finish "Circle Gets the Square" just in the nick of time.

Complimentary Contradictions

I had been hoping to get my latest done before midnight on September 5th so I could enter it into the Etsy Bead Weavers challenge "Complimentary Contradictions". You can vote for the challenge on our blog from September 9th through 15th. Don't worry, I'll be reminding you again when voting opens!
I actually finished at 10pm, thinking I had plenty of time to take some pics and get it listed. HA! What was I thinking? I DID get the necklace listed before midnight (11:54 EST to be exact), but I struggled with the photo taking. I even tried again yesterday to get some better photos...different light, going outside, but I can't seem to get the camera to see what *I* see.
Nonetheless, it's finished, it's listed, and it's officially entered in the challenge. I call it "Circle Gets the Square".
I used a bunch of different types of beads for this one. Swarovski glass pearls, delica seed beads, toho seed beads, czech firepolished beads, and swarovski crystals squares and one circle for the clasp. I put a lot of energy into making my hands do what I saw in my head, and I'm quite pleased with the result.
