I've been playing around with right angle weave a lot lately. Cubular right angle weave to be specific. It is SO time consuming but SO worth it. The end result is a solid, structural piece, and the sky is the limit. I have a plethora of projects planned with this stitch in mind. Right now, in fact, I'm working on something very exciting! I can't spill the beans just yet though...I have 2 more in the "set" to finish before I can exhibit them to the world! In the meantime, please enjoy some lovely cubular rings, inspired by my new favorite stitch!
I'm SURE I'll be making more of these style rings in the future...fun and unique, right up my alley!
Love the rings. I have been bombarded with emails from beaders for ring patterns and ring help. They are the item of the hour. Yours are just lovely!!! Nicole/Beadwright http://beadwright.blogspot.com
I discovered jewelry making in my mid-teens, around that age when girls start worrying about being "pretty" I suppose. It started as a hobby of making simple bead earrings and hemp macrame necklaces but quickly steamrolled into a full blown addiction. I moved on to stringing necklaces, bracelets and anklets. Soon after I discovered seed beads. At first I had NO idea what to even do with them other than use them as spacer beads. But then I discovered peyote (or gourd) stitch and I was absolutely hooked. It was (and still is) amazing to me that you can put these little tiny things together to create something more beautiful than the sum of its parts.
I take my "addiction" pretty seriously...I pay close attention to details and weave each bead with love. If I am feeling grumpy or sad I do NOT bead, as I believe that energy can seep into the piece I am creating. Luckily I'm a pretty happy person and have a wonderful loving husband who understands and helps support me in my artistic endeavors.
