New Earrings

I just finished these yesterday and I'm very excited about them. They are beaded with delicas and bugles.

They measure 3-3/4" from top of ear post (sterling silver) to bottom of fringe, and 1-1/2" across widest point.

Will be available for purchase on my website shortly!

Beaded Holiday Ornament

After deciding to bead up a pair of earrings I walked into my bead storage area and shimmering out of the corner of my eye was one of the bulb ornaments I bought LAST year and never used. So I grabbed it, and found some "wintery" beads to go with it. After experimenting with numbers to find the right weave, it all came together very easily. I may or may not add embelishments to this one, as it's more of a prototype than anything. I'm looking forward to doing more of these though, it was fun!

New stuff

I have two new bracelets and one in the works. I'm not satisfied with the quality of the photos I have right now so I'll just post them here until I can get the right shot(s).

Monday again...

This week was rough...it was DOUBLE rough. Got my car back, which is good. However $500 less in the pocket is sucky.
Also, have had the flu or something since Thursday. No more fever, I'm left with no voice and my throat kills. Needless to say its not been a very productive week.
I AM happy to announce that I will soon be carrying hula hoops on my website. Not the cheesy kid ones. Sturdy handmade ones, that won't kink on ya, in all sorts of pretty colors, sizes, and weights. Stay tuned for the launch.

New Earrings

I seem to be inspired by the hoop lately.
These are 30mm sterling silver hoops w/ a 17mm hoop inside with a bronze Swarovski crystal pearl inside that. Earwires and loops are also SS. Timeless and elegant, I'd say.

Finished w/ Custom Necklace

This was a joy to make. She sent me the OM pendant and told me she wanted something black & silver, elegant, and with crystals. I used several different sizes of matte black onyx rounds, seamless sterling silver beads, antiqued corrugated sterling silver beads, sterling silver rondelles, various jet black swarovski crystals, and a sterling silver hook and eye clasp.
It came together fairly easily, gotta love it when the "flow" is with you. =)
She is excited about it just from the pictures, so I expect she'll love it even more when it is around her neck.

OK I've been slacking...

I have been working on projects, just been super busy outside of that and haven't had any real time to take pictures and post. Also, got into a car accident on Wednesday which really put a DENT on things. Ha!
Right now I'm working on a Frankenstien amulet bag (which I think I'm going to turn into a change purse w/ a zipper). It is a pattern created by JacquƩ Owens, and appears in the November, 2001 issue of bead and button. I also am working on a necklace that I was commissioned to create for someone. It's beautiful so far though I haven't strung it yet, it's on the bead-board.
I'll have pictures of the progress of both up soon. Today though, I am attenting a hooping (hula that is) teaching certification class, and coming home to a party at my house.
MAYBE tomorrow I'll get those pics up.

Finished pendant comparison

I thought I'd compile a before and after collage, just to give everyone an idea of what the beading really did for the pendant. Like I said before, the silver just wasn't doing the stone justice.
The recipient is very excited and absolutely loves it, which makes me very happy...that's what it's all about!

Pendant update

Beading the bail presented a challenge, or I just wasn't doing things right to start with...live and learn!

I used size 15 beads at the top, but realized they werent as uniform as the delicas and had to backtrack a good half hour. I started this time with the delicas and knew things were going to work much better right from the start. Put some 15's along the side to cover the string/stitch, and it's purty.

I'm going to try and get a before picture of the stone, because side by side you can really see how the silver was taking attention away from the stone, and how the black brings it to the forefront. For now, here's the finished piece:

Pendant wrap

Someone came to me with a pendant with a pretty jasper stone and asked if I could do a bead wrap around it. Sure thing! Only, it was already set in a silver setting. I decided to bead right around that sucker anyways. The silver really took attention away from the stone, so I thought a matte black would be fitting, and bring the stone to the forefront.
I started to wrap the bail in beads as well, but the sz.11 delicas were too big for it, so I'm going to go back and cover it in sz.15's and all should be well.
This is my progress so far:

First Post...

While I have been tweaking my website for a bit http://www.uniqueyou.org, I am new to the whole blogging thing, so please bear with me. For now I'll just post a few pictures, as I'm busy with projecting, and seem to never have enough time for this website stuff.
I actually found time to completely organize my beading/creating area, and I'll definately take some pictures soon (so I can remember what organized looks like...lol).
I'll be brushing up on my html soon, until then I have a beaded pendant wrap to finish.
Namaste
